The origin of the General Electric Company in Fort Wayne dates back to the turn of the last century. As one of the premier employers in northeast Indiana, GE became a major player in the modern industrial revolution, extending it's presence for several decades. At times, employees numbered more than 10,000 at the Fort Wayne campus. Today a new dream is in the works. With the leadership of the Electric Works organization (fortwayneelectricworks.com), plans are underway to redevelop the old GE campus into a new shining star in northeast Indiana. Please visit the Electric Works website for more information.
